The Woodgate Nursery garden show will take place this year at the Nursery in Alysham on the 8th and 9th of June. The show will feature over 60 exhibitors with a wide variety of craft items on display and for sale. The features of the show include the new floral marquee demonstrating stunning floral displays.
The show will take place on June 8th and 9th between 10am – 4.30pm and will aim to build on the success of last year’s event which welcomed more than 5,000 people. There is a £1 voluntary gate entrance donation (per person), with the money benefiting our 2019 chosen charities – the Aylsham Scouts and the Aylsham Roman Project.
Inspired by the Royal Horticulture Society’s (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show, local garden designers will be battling for the people’ vote to be crowned the winner of the best garden design. Visitors are encouraged to vote for their favourite garden for a chance to win £75 worth of gardening vouchers.
The show also includes a variety of food and drink stalls packed with tasty treats and savoury goods, as well as a craft marquee, filled with wonderful gift ideas and inspiration plus the garden exhibitors have all manner of gardening items for sale.
Not only can attendees pick up the latest flowers from the nursery, but they can learn more about their garden from the show’s friendly and knowledgeable exhibitors.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy entertainment for all ages including children’s games, face painting, birds of prey, arts and crafts marquee, the Aylsham Brass Band on Sunday afternoon and charity stalls. Purdy’s Tea Room will be serving a delicious range of homemade cakes, light lunches, ice creams throughout the weekend, plus a delicious hog roast available throughout the weekend.
The show is dog friendly, with well-behaved dogs welcome on leads.

Purdy’s Tea Room Macmillan coffee day
Purdy’s Tea Room is taking part in the Word’s Biggest Coffee Morning and hopes as many people as possible will join them in supporting millions of people facing cancer in the UK on Friday 27th September.
Every hot drink sold throughout the day will go to the charity, with the cakes all fitting in with the Macmillan theme – open from 10am to 4pm, catch up over a cuppa, enjoy some treats – and help raise money so that no one will have to face cancer alone.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning started in 1990, with thousands being raised locally and over £200m for Macmillan nationally, enabling it to support individuals from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
Along with a vast selection of Macmillan themed cakes and endless coffee, there will be a raffle with ‘fantastic’ prizes. Enter to win a basketfull of tea room and nursery goodies (worth over £50). Raffle tickets are available now from Purdy’s – so if you can’t make the event you can still take part by buying a ticket for £1 from the tea room.
Purdy’s Owner Stuart Morton, said ‘Taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning provides us with an opportunity to show our support to the fantastic Macmillan nurses and give thanks for all of the incredible work they do – We are now into our 7th coffee day at Purdy’s and it’s set to be a great day and we hope to see lots of people from the local community here on the day’
‘Please come along and enjoy a fun-filled day and raise money for a good cause.’
