Macmillan Coffee Day – Friday 28th September, 10am to 4pm

Enjoy a guilt free cake at Purdy’s Tea Room Macmillan coffee day

Purdy’s Tea Room is taking part in the Word’s Biggest Coffee Morning and hopes as many people as possible will join them in supporting millions of people facing cancer in the UK on Friday 28th September.

Every hot drink sold throughout the day will go to the charity (sponsored by Calypso Coffee), with the cakes all fitting in with the Macmillan theme – open from 10am to 4pm, catch up over a cuppa, enjoy some treats – and help raise money so that no one will have to face cancer alone.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning started in 1990, with thousands being raised locally and over £200m for Macmillan nationally, enabling it to support individuals from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.

Along with a vast selection of Macmillan themed cakes and endless coffee, there will be two raffles with ‘fantastic’ prizes.  One includes a raffle to win a hamper full of tea room and nursery goodies (worth over £50).  Raffle tickets are available now from Purdy’s – so if you can’t make the event you can still take part by buying a ticket for £1 from the tea room.

A second raffle is being hosted on the day by Laura Skinner, to win last year’s sell out beauty calendar – The Body Shop Advent Calendar. These Christmas 2018 must haves are not only packed full of pampering treats; they also include 25 fun, feel-good challenges to help you make the world a wilder place!

Purdy’s Owner Stuart Morton, said ‘Taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning provides us with an opportunity to show our support to the fantastic Macmillan nurses and give thanks for all of the incredible work they do – We are now into our sixth coffee day at Purdy’s and it’s set to be a great day and we hope to see lots of people from the local community here on the day’

‘Please come along and enjoy a fun-filled day and raise money for a good cause.’
