Hundreds enjoyed guilt free cake in aid of Macmillan.
Purdy’s Tea Room hosted a Macmillan Coffee Day on Friday 28th September, which included two charity raffles to win a hamper full of tea room and nursery goodies (worth over £50) and the ‘must have’ 2017 Christmas advent calendar from The Body Shop.
Every hot drink sold on the day went to the charity, with the cakes all fitting in with the Macmillan theme – including a delicious selection of lemon cupcakes. Thank you to Calypso coffee for supplying some free coffee for the day.
Stuart Morton, tea room owner, commented ‘This year has been really well supported and with all proceeds from the hot drinks being donated and the 2 raffles, we have raised over £1000 for Macmillan, a fantastic amount. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped us raise so much for a great cause and thank you to Laura Skinner too for organising the Body Shop raffle.’
